Standardization plays a decisive role for the development and promotion of renewable energy technologies. Some international, regional, national and industry-specific standard-setting organizations are introduced, and the progress of international standards for renewable energy is elaborated. At last, China's participation in international renewable energy standards forming is analyzed, and recommendations for China's standardization work in the renewable energy are provided.
